EWB NZ's annual conference, Engineering Change 2013, will be held on Saturday 20th July at the University of Auckland. The day-long conference aims to promote awareness and knowledge of the role that engineers can play in international development. It is open to students and professionals and is an awesome learning and networking opportunity.
The conference brings together respected academics, NGOs, and experienced professionals in the engineering and development fields. Speakers will share their knowledge and experiences based around three central themes:
•Trends in Development: Explore the current trends in international development and learn more about the ideas and issues around development.
•Pacific Focus: The South Pacific is a unique and varied environment. Hear about the various challenges and successes that NGOs and community partners have had in undertaking development projects in the South Pacific.
•Development Toolbox: Experienced speakers share their stories on the skills, tools and knowledge required for achieving successful developmental outcomes.
The conference is a fantastic chance for participants to network with like-minded students and professionals, discover career paths and opportunities, and to get inspired to use their engineering skills to create positive change.
