Myanmar: A humanitarian catastrophe

From the New Zealand Human Rights Parliamentary Network, Co-chairs Marama Davidson MP and Melissa Lee MP invite you to “Myanmar: A humanitarian catastrophe”.
Hear stories from the ground following the exodus of over half a million Rohingya escaping mass violence, burnings and ethnic cleansing taking place in Rakhine State. Listen to human rights and humanitarian experts in the field discuss the biggest humanitarian crisis the world is facing today. Representatives from the Rohingya community and New Zealanders who have been on the ground will host a revealing panel event to discuss the crisis, their experiences, and what needs to be done.

The panel consists of:

  • Executive Director Amnesty International, Grant Balydon

  • External Communications Manager for Emergencies, UNICEF Australia, Charlotte Glennie

  • International Programmes Director, Save the Children New Zealand, Andrew Johnston

  • Anayat Ullah, Rohingya former refugee
