Please RSVP to madeleine@cid.org.nz
Gerard Prinsen has been working with Dutch aid agencies for twenty years. During a recent holiday to Europe, he caught up with colleagues in the aid industry and compared notes on the changes afoot and in the air in New Zealand and the Netherlands. The political temperature around development aid has definitely changed. But is it permanent, or seasonal? Gerard will share a few ideas on what may be global patterns and provide insights in responses by some Dutch aid organisations, non-profit as well as commercial.Gerard Prinsen teaches in the Development Studies programmes at Massey and Victoria Universities. He is also engaged in practitioner-led research by a consortium of Dutch NGOs in aid effectiveness in six post-conflict states in Africa as well as a Marsden funded research into the impact of aid on sovereignty in the Pacific.
