CID carries out surveys with its member agencies, prepares submissions, policies and occassional papers. This provides the basis for CID’s advocacy programme. Recent publications and campaigns include: 
Experience Earth: Millennium Development Goals 2015
Brand new resource about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), targeted at secondary school teachers and young people aged 13-18. This resource was produced by CID and the Global Education Centre. This resource will help raise students' awareness of global problems, and how governments have pledged to solve them. It will introduce students to the MDGs (eight global targets that if achieved, will halve poverty by 2015), as well as agencies and individuals working to achieve them. It has a unique focus on the role of Aotearoa New Zealand in achieving the MDGs and introduces students to the United Nations Stand Up campaign. Overseas Aid - A Qualitative and Quantitative Study This July 2007 study commissioned by CID and NZAID and conducted by UMR continues analysis of New Zealanders' attitudes towards, and knowledge of, overseas aid issues.
