Seafarers Welfare Board New Zealand

Seafarers Welfare Board New Zealand
SWBNZ was set up in 1964 at the request of the Government of the day so that they only had one organisation to deal with and not three when it came to Seafarers Welfare. The three main members are - Mission to Seafarers, Apostleship of the Seas (also known as Stella Maris) and the International Sailors Society.
The purpose is to provide welfare support to international seafarers calling at New Zealand ports, including WIFi, personal shopping, access to Seafarer Centres, a listening ear, as well as provide justice and advocacy support to and on behalf of seafarers.
