Can you invest around 2 hours per week?
If yes, then we have a number of flexible volunteer opportunities that might interest you. Will you join us to inspire your community to support refugees? Through Operation Refugee you can connect with issues faced by refugees in Jordan and Lebanon, and others now settled in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will use your strengths and connections to work with others on this nationwide campaign, and learn more about what is happening for people forced to flee their homes.
We are looking for a team of people who can connect with their community to promote an advocacy and fundraising campaign called Operation Refugee. Since 2013, we have raised over $133,530 for our partner organisations working with refugees, especially in Jordan and Lebanon. This money has provided vital income to support programmes offering healthcare, education and emergency food parcels as well as communities of support.
This year we have a focus to both increase our fundraising target and also to educate, advocate and inspire people to stand with refugees.
Knowledge, skills & attributes:
– A passion for advocacy, refugees and/or international development
– Excellent communication skills
– Strong project management skills
– Strong relationship builder who enjoys interacting with a diverse range of people
– The ability to think creatively
– Able to use initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team
