Internship Opportunities: Anglican Missions

Posted on 18 September 2022

About the job

Are you in your second to last year at university or a recent graduate looking to get real-world experience? Would you like to make a positive impact on the world by doing so? If you said YES to these, come and join Anglican Missions' voluntary summer internship programme.

We represent the Anglican Church in Aotearoa New Zealand and Polynesia and carry out mission, development, and humanitarian aid work overseas. 80% of our work is focused on the Pacific.

This summer, we are looking for a Marketing & Communications Intern, a Projects Intern and a Development Intern to join our close-knit office in Thorndon, Wellington.

What you will be doing:

Interns work alongside current staff and volunteers. They have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of international development and are actively involved in any emergency responses (such as cyclones or earthquakes).

We are looking for

A Communications and Marketing Intern who is:

  • Passionate about great visual design
  • Up with social media trends
  • Interested in learning about website content management
  • Excited to tell stories that matter

A Projects Intern who has:

  • Creative and exciting ideas about how to engage with youth
  • Interest in co-designing and co-managing a project linking schools in NZ to schools in the Pacific

A Development Intern who will enjoy:

  • Supporting and managing projects
  • Helping prepare response plans to inevitable natural disasters
  • Project monitoring and evaluation
  • Project report writing

What you will get in return:

Please note that this is a voluntary summer internship.

We offer:

  • Flexible working hours and location.
  • Chill office vibe and freshly brewed coffee and biscuits every morning.
  • The opportunity to participate in workshops and training events to develop your skill base.
  • A contribution to your daily commuter expenses.
  • You will have ownership of specific projects to manage and will receive close mentoring and guidance along the way.

With this, we hope that you can take away valuable experience and tangible outcomes to start building your career. By joining us, you will also be part of a force for good, easing suffering and spreading joy out into the world.

“The past summer at Anglican Missions was an extremely valuable and most memorable experience for me. The organisation’s positive, enthusiastic, and supportive environment provided a great opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and get stuck in” - Campbell Kerr, 2021 Intern.
