CID Talk: Foreign exchange markets: rising interest rates and geopolitical impacts

Join the StoneX Global Payments team for a market update on foreign exchange markets in 2022. During this CID Talk the team will hone in on topics such as growing inflationary fears, rising interest rates and geopolitical impacts (e.g. Ukraine, Afghanistan, Myanmar and more) on both major and emerging markets in the region and beyond.

StoneX will provide a review of what has happened in the year to date and what to expect for the remainder of the year. This will be followed by a Q&A session.

Speakers

Presenting will be Michael Stachowiak, Head of Business Development (Global Payments) Australia and New Zealand and Timothy Peng, Head of Trading APAC Global Payments. This session may be of particular interest to Finance Managers, CFO’s, board members looking for an outlook on how currency markets and the broader global economy might affect their international programs and help with budget forecasting where aid work is being done overseas. 

Michael Stachowiak - Head of Business Development AU&NZ (Global Payments) - StoneX - Michael is responsible for managing and growing existing customer relationships and developing new clients for the FX Payments product in Australia and New Zealand. Having been with StoneX for five years and National Australia Bank before that he has a wealth of experience spanning over a decade in international payments, FX markets (both exotic and major) and technology. He considered himself a part of the NGO sector given how closely he works with his clients on achieving their forging exchange goals when working in exotic currency markets.  

Timothy Peng - Head of Trading, APAC - Global Payments – StoneX - Timothy is responsible for heading up the Singapore trading desk which covers the entire APAC region for StoneX Global Payments, trading in exotics for StoneX with a focus on APAC currencies. His responsibilities include pricing, risk management and overall FX market expertise on exotic currency markets in the region and beyond. He has over a decade of experience and is considered an expert on the subject given the volume StoneX transact for their 800 strong aid and development client base but also 75 global and central banks.
