Safeguarding, Sexual Misconduct and Leadership

Safeguarding Tools, Templates and Resources

Here you will find a copy of the safeguarding presentation from the recent workshops, a report capturing the findings from the workshops, and a link to templates, resources and guidelines that can be adapted to the New Zealand context. We will keep adding to this site and updating templates, and let you know what happens next.

  • Video from SafeForChildren founder, Richard Powell

This summarises key information and findings from CID's Safeguarding Workshops held in Auckland and Wellington in September and includes the Sexual Misconduct and Leadership Workshop survey.

A big thank you to Oxfam Australia who has shared their Child Safeguarding Toolkit (see link above). You’ll find a number of templates, checklists and tools. The Toolkit was developed with Oxfam programs and operations in mind, however, the guidance information and templates can be adapted for the purpose of many different organisations, large or small.

The Toolkit was written prior to the focus on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) so it does not cover the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse of vulnerable adults/beneficiary communities/workers, however as we know similar safeguarding strategies and measures can be applied to the prevention of SEA.
