CID Talk: Carsten Bockemueh: Hope for Syria? Three humanitarian challenges in 2019

Posted on 26 February 2019

The Syrian war is far from over, and 2019 will be a critical year for both Syrians and the international community.

Three major challenges will test the world’s commitment to protecting the most vulnerable:

  1. Conflict escalation in Idlib and North-East Syria
  2. A rise in forced returns of refugees
  3. Enormous humanitarian needs in both Syria and its neighbouring countries.

This talk aims to explore these daunting challenges and provide ideas for shared action by humanitarians, governments and citizens alike.
