Caritas State of the Environment for Oceania 2020 Report Launch

Start: End:
Location: Online Events

In the year of COVID and Zoom, Caritas in Oceania invites you to an online 'talanoa,' sharing stories of environmental impact and response from the grassroots and coastal edges of Oceania. We will assess impact across five key areas, and outline recommendations for action for the wellbeing of Oceania peoples.

This is the online launch of our State of the Environment for Oceania report for 2020: Towards New Horizons. The webinar will take place at 1pm on Friday, 2 October (NZ Time). Register here: https://bit.ly/2Rg5dEX

Caritas staff and partners will share impact and response on: coastal erosion and sea level rise; food and water; extreme weather; offshore mining and drilling; and access to climate finance. Panelists include report lead writer Martin de Jong and Caritas Tonga Director Amelia Ma'afu, along with Ursula Rakova of Tulele Peisa, Carteret Islands, PNG, and Kositatino Tikomaibolatagane of Caritas Fiji.
