'Adaptive Management', 'Doing Development Differently', and 'Thinking and Working Politically' are increasingly important for our work in development.
In these 'masterclasses' you will explore how these approaches connect and impact the way we work. What should we be doing differently; what does it mean for our partnerships; and how does it align with our 'Monitoring and Evaluation' requirements?
CID is hosting this training in partnership with MFAT, on Zoom.
We are excited to have two global experts to host these sessions. These will be followed over the next few weeks by a keynote speech and a panel discussion amongst your peers.

- How does MEL work for adaptive approaches?
- What have we learnt?
- Examples of adaptive management in practice.
Penny Hawkins, facilitator. Penny is an evaluation, monitoring and learning specialist with senior-level leadership experience in government and philanthropic sectors. She has worked in the design and establishment of adaptive approaches in New Zealand at MFAT, and for the UK aid agency, DFID and is in demand as a consultant for global development organisations.

Lavinia Tyrrel, facilitator. Lavinia is an expert in Adaptive Management, governance and 'Thinking and Working Politically'. She is the Practice Manager and Deputy Technical Lead, Governance and Development Practice at Abt Associates in Australia, and has over 13 years experience advising governments and designing programmes for Prime Ministers, for DFAT, as well as for the UK government and multilateral organisations.
