COVID’s Impact on the Aid Sector

46% of aid charities say that COVID is a serious threat to their survival. 'Business as usual or operations as we used to know them, have gone forever’, according to a new report 'Health of the New Zealand International NGO Sector’

This is an extremely challenging time for New Zealand’s aid sector. There are fears that in tough economic times, ‘charity begins at home…and may now stay at home’.

But the crisis is also a perfect opportunity for aid organisations to adapt to greater uncertainty, innovate and implement more impactful models of operating.

Please join us for a stimulating and informal discussion on the aid sector post COVID with the authors of the report, CEOs from the sector, and others.

Nibbles will be served and drinks are available.

Date: Thursday 24 September, 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Venue: The Backbencher Pub, 34 Molesworth St, Thornton, Wellington

Limited tickets available, please register for $10 here

The report was written by independent consultants, Craig Fisher specialising in governance and organisational development, and Darren Ward managing partner of Direct Impact Group, a social impact consultancy. It is based on desk research, interviews with CEOs, key stakeholders (in New Zealand and across the region), as well as online surveys. It was commissioned by CID.
