Posted on 03 May 2022

U.S. President Joe Biden's administration plans to step up diplomatic engagement with Pacific Island countries, which includes inviting Pacific leaders to the White House later this year. This was outlined by Indo-Pacific coordinator Kurt Campbell at a recent U.S.-New Zealand business summit. Biden administration would also work with U.S. AID and the new U.S. International Development Finance Corporation to fund projects in the region, as well as restore the Peace Corps to much of the area.
