Posted on 04 June 2026

Background

The Leprosy Mission New Zealand (LMNZ) is a Christian development aid organisation, and a member of the Leprosy Mission Global Fellowship. The Leprosy Mission’s global vision is to see ‘leprosy defeated and lives transformed’. As part of the Global Fellowship we have an ambitious goal to see a world with zero transmission of leprosy for children by 2035. LMNZ, partnering with other affiliates of the Leprosy Mission Global Fellowship, funds a range of medical, public health and community development projects across the world with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific Region. LMNZ receives funding from the NZ Government, through the NZ Aid Programme, along with donations from compassionate New Zealand supporters. LMNZ is one of New Zealand’s oldest charities, having been established in 1912, is a registered charity and is governed by an independent Board, elected by its members.

Purpose of the Position

The Programmes Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the planning and implementation of LMNZ’s programme work in defined areas, coordinating the continuing development of an agreed number of long-term programmes and projects. The role offers the opportunity to engage with three MFAT funding channels including: Negotiated Partnership, Bilateral Funding and Climate Finance focused in PNG, Bougainville, Timor-Leste and Kiribati.

The role would be well suited to someone with an interest in international development, programme coordination, partner engagement, and donor-funded programme management.
