Rapid spread of Covid in Marshall Islands

Since the initial confirmation on 8th August of a few positive cases in Majuro, the capital of the Marshall Islands, the number of positive cases has skyrocketed to the one-day total of 1,064 on 13th August at the three community-based care-sites established to test and treat local residents.
 
This brings Majuro's total in the wake of the outbreak to over 2,000 cases in a population estimated at 20,000. There were nine early hospitalizations, with most reported to be recovered by Sunday.
